12 ways to get more fans on Your Facebook Page
Is Facebook Worth The Effort For a Small Business?
I have very successful friends who are doing all their new business promotion on Facebook and skipping a website or blog altogether. Gasp!
Here’s How To Make A Facebook Page Work For Your Business
1st: Here’s the clearest, nontechno babble, step by step directions on how to build a Facebook Page I’ve found (from Search Engine Guide…)
2nd: Put new information regularly on your Wall, in a respectful manner.
The Wall on your “Page” is the same as a Wall within a personal Profile. As the Page Administrator, you can publish stories, news, and offers that also go to your Fan’s Profiles. Updates don’t always happen right away; and Tuesday mornings are the best time to enter new content.
Here are 12 proven ways you can optimize your Facebook Page:
1. When you publish always include video, or photo’s and images. (Video is the best communication medium.)
2. Get an URL that contains your keywords such as facebook.com/localsearchexperts. This is available after you have 25 Fans.
3. Your geographic area in the title of an Event or Group, ranks better in Facebook search.
4. For local business: put your business address exactly as it’s listed in Google Maps. This increases the likelihood of your Facebook Page appearing as a web reference in your Google local business center listing.
5. Publish new content at least 2 times each week – more often is better.
6. Exclusive offers for your Fans will grow your Fan base.
7. Develop a content calendar. Include surveys and feedback questions.
8. Ask for, encourage and reward positive reviews.
9. Keep your pages simple and easy to read. Remember people enjoy images, videos, and timely information
10. Interact! Jump into conversations, feature fans in a conversation, and share others information.
11. Use the Facebook Connect app, Comments app, sweepstakes or promotions, or any engaging item that could bring more Fans.
12. Tabs; use all the ones that make sense. Tabs include the Wall for content like video, Info for written information, Photos for photos (duh), and custom Facebook applications (events, reviews, discussions, etc..)
Test and measure your results: Use the Facebook Insights tool and see what’s working – then do more of it and better.
